Big Ant - Camponotus planatus

Big Ant - Camponotus planatus
Palm Beach County, Florida, USA
July 8, 2012
This large ant looks a lot like my Florida Carpenter Ants, but the one I had ID'd here had more rounded shoulders than this one. Is this also a Florida Carpenter Ant? This was one of the big ants killing the little ants that I think are White Footed Ants.

Moved
Moved from Ants.

This is indeed Camponotus planatus
Seen from above, such a medium worker looks confusingly like a red Formica ant.

Moved for expert attention
Moved from ID Request. Maybe Camponotus planatus
