These were on my friend's sunflowers, some on the leaves, often crawling fast or flying, others resting at the center of a bud like this one. I have no clue even on the family.

Drastically sharpened, like the next picture, in the hope of a glimpse of a wing vein.

My friend and I, looking at the pattern on the left wing in a smaller image on the camera screen, wondered whether it was another insect. Could it possibly trick predators into attacking the "insect" on the wing and sparing the body?
