Found on Iris missouriensis.
Recalled Dan Young's comment about 'diagnostically "pointed" and upcurved elytral tips' here:

Also compares well with Michael Caterino's specimen photo, and with one specimen at Cal State Northridge det. by Dan Young.
I wonder whether these beetles make it higher up on the mountain, where recently I found great numbers of the meloid Epicauta puncticollis but saw no Pyrochroids.
