Harpalus protractus - female

Harpalus protractus - Female
Somerset, Pulaski County, Kentucky, USA
June 28, 2012
Size: 14.5 mm; elytra ~ 9 mm
Collected at UV light.

Striae impunctate; all elytral intervals densely punctate; posterior pronotal groove not interupted laterally by punctures.

Keys leads to longicollis/protractus/actiosus. Larger size makes H. longicollis unlikely and lacks the anterior emargination of the pronotum seen in H. actiosus.
