Beetle in SE Arizona Pine Forest - Temnoscheila chlorodia

Beetle in SE Arizona Pine Forest - Temnoscheila chlorodia
Incinerator Ridge, Catalina Mountains, Pima County, Arizona, USA
July 13, 2012
Size: 15 mm
I just happened to notice the beetle on my digital recorder after recording call notes of a Red Crossbill. I've tried to find a photo match, and just don't know enough to even get it to family. Lucanidae looked best at first, then got lost in Carabidae...

Moved
Moved from Temnoscheila.

Specimen
I have the specimen, incidentally, still alive in the fridge.

Temnoscheila sp.
Moved from ID Request.

Wow that was quick!
Thanks for acting so quickly. I should have flipped a few more pages in my field guide...

Very distinctive beetle
Easily recognizable once you've seen one. :)
