Moved
Moved from Ants.

Male ant.
But no male ant known from North America is 1 and a half inches long. Would you like to revise that estimate?

Size
Inches are much longer than I thought they were, apparently. I attached a photo with my finger for scale. It's more like ~.5 cm? Thanks!

As I thought
Males of other Formica species groups are considerably larger, 9-11mm.
