Crabro Wasp - Larropsis distincta

Crabro Wasp - Larropsis distincta
Essex, Ontario, Canada
Size: About 10 mm
I'm guessing Tachysphex species?

Larropsis distincta
Probably Larropsis distincta (only species of the genus recorded from eastern Canada). It is like a large Tachysphex but is on the wing later than most Tachysphex and hunts crickets (not grasshoppers).

Possibly.
Tachysphex are usually pretty tiny, even smaller than this. Certainly this is in the same subfamily (Larrinae), and I'd move it to that guide page. Thank you.
