Size: 8mm
Very tiny, unusual day-flying moth (8mm), only seen in bare, alpine gravel in East Cascades just below summit of peak (elev 6300'), where it was locally common. Exhibited distinctive "warning" posture every time it landed, raising wings to show bright red dorsal surface of hindwings.
