moth - Acrolepiopsis heppneri

moth - Acrolepiopsis heppneri
Cross Plains, Dane County, Wisconsin, USA
July 15, 2012
The moth has just emerged from the cocoon. The wings have not yet completely unfolded. I think this is Acrolepiopsis heppneri.

A. heppneri
The larval habit firmly diagnoses the moth as Acrolepiopsis heppneri. July is much earlier in the year than I see the larva in central Illinois, but then given the weather this year, perhaps we shouldn't be too surprised by this.
