Thank you for your help with this beetle. Where do I go in order to find the best glossary? Most of what you wrote is totally new and foreign to me and I have not been able to find a good glossary on the internet.
Also, somehow the date I submitted vanished at some time and showed up as 1969, but I have now corrected that.

Thanks to everyone for your help. I didn't know if the single upper spots were a variation or indicated a different species. Katy

beetle
had the same thing in NJ last couple of nights. Euria genus certainly. looks like Eburia sp. probably quadrigeminata but the single white dorsal blotch just below the thorax might not fit 100%
