Melonworm Moth - Diaphania hyalinata

Melonworm Moth - Diaphania hyalinata
Shreveport, Caddo Parish, Louisiana, USA
September 16, 2010
Size: About 1 in
Diaphania hyalinata
Melonworm Moth

Moved from ID Request.

Interestingly, the only other Melonworm Moth from Louisiana does not have the charistic tuffs at tip of abdomen. I don't think Diaphania moths are sexually dimorphic, that both sexes have the tuffs. Perhaps they just haven't developed, yet.
