Size: size of common fruitfly
I have tried for several years to get this small Fly identified. i photographed it while it was feeding on nectar of a gloriosa daisy in August. There were 5 or 6 of them on only flower. The fly was about the size of a common fruit fly. I have been unable to find anyone that can identify them.

These are bee flies--maybe something in/near Poecilognathus.
