Is this a katydid? Most of the ones Ive seen are very green, not mottled and brown? Anyone know what genus/species this may be? Found on a crushed limestone path in the middle of the woods midday in 103 degree heat.

Least Shieldback
This is a Least Shieldback (Atlanticus monticola). I was able to distinguish it from Protean Shieldback (Atlanticus testaceus) because the forewings are about a quarter the length of the pronotum. Protean Shieldbacks forewings would be about half or greater the length.
