If you spot anything similar in the future, the space between the eyes is diagnostic of clubtails (family Gomphidae)--other dragonflies have eyes that meet on the top of the head. So that helps narrow things down.

Me, too!
I do a lot of ID from photographs when I get home. :-) But some species are considerably less cooperative than others...

Dragonfly?
Either Eastern Least or Interior Least Clubtail, female. You apparently need to see the subgenital plate to distinguish between the two.
