do you still have the specimen?
The extremely tiny size is throwing me off a bit...a midsummer female that's only 2.2 mm is unusual for any sp. of Hyperaspis, although factors like larval diet and unusual weather during larval development can affect the size of the adult. (Do you remember if the weather was unseasonably hot or dry around that time?)

In Ontario the options in the signata group are limited to H. signata signata and H. conviva; this doesn't look dorsoventrally flattened enough for H. conviva. If you've still got the specimen, a lateral photo could settle the question. If not, she's still a nice addition to the signata group node.

Specimen...
Thought it was lost but I found it recently. Does not look too dorsoventrally flattened to me. What do you think?

no, not very flattened
She's a little flatter-looking in the lateral photo than the first photo, but still more convex than I'd expect from H. conviva.

I'm noticing a distinct difference in the puncture size/spacing of the pronotum and elytra; I know there are some spp. of Hyperaspis where those features can help with identification. I'll look into it and see if it applies to H. signata vs. H. conviva.

Moved
Moved from Hyperaspis.

yes, signata group female
I can't get it any further from a photo. Feel free to move her to the signata group node, the photo quality is high and it's a great example of the bright blue eyes.
