Carpenters' Cicada - Megatibicen resh

Carpenters' Cicada - Megatibicen resh
Desoto, Dallas County, Texas, USA
July 26, 2012
Size: 32mm body length
"So they sprinkled gold-dust in your hair and golden starlight in your eyes of blue...." (My apologies to Richard and Karen). I've never seen one with this much gold--perhaps I should have titled it "King Tut." These have been singing in the oaks in my backyard this week. They could very nearly drive one to the brink of insanity--and I usually find cicada calls to be a "homey" sound! T. resh?
