We would call this Needham's
based upon our understanding of the differences. It will be interesting to see what others think.

Thanks for your comments. Based on location and proximity to shore, Needham's seems more likely. We will look forward to other comments.

I agree
with ID of Needham's Skimmer. I'm looking at that thorax, and it looks like the red color does NOT extend all the way down the humeral stripe, rather it discontinues. Hard to tell for sure, but the hind tibia appears brown, rather than black. Finally, we only found Needham's same place this day, Paulson says Needham's are most common on/near coast, and the two different species "seem to coexist rarely".
