Yep...
...we'll have to leave this here for now. This form is much more broadly distributed across the southeastern U.S. than the similar-looking K. cincta spinifera from Florida. In my opinion, it is a distinct species and not just a light-brown version of nominotypical K. cincta, based on different phenology (at least in Missouri where I've studied it closely). I keep waffling whether to describe it - I suspect this and the above mentioned taxa all represent distinct species, but I haven't yet found good structural characters to differentiate them (unlike subspecies sonorensis, which I definitely regard as a distinct species).

Knulliana?
This might be one of those Knulliana species. I think I heard a rumor that someone is in the process of describing the immaculate versions as a new species, but I'm not positive.
