Looks like a Prionus,
male with these large antennae. Not sure which species. Beautiful specimen!

Yes, and
there are records for Madera Canyon of both
P. californicus
and
P. heroicus
. At this point I don't know the diagnostic characters to differentiate the two. Well, perhaps
heroicus
since this specimen appears to lack the median furrow on the head as in
californicus
. Or? Still guessing...
