wasp or bee or ? - Halictus ligatus
San Jose, CA, Santa Clara County, California, USA
August 1, 2012
This is the first time I've been able to capture this little wasp or bee and I'm hoping the photo is good enough for an ID. They love to nearly burrow down into the pollen and roll around it it.

Moved from ligatus or poeyi. I assume this belongs in Halictus ligatus, but can't say for sure.
