I took this picture of a nursery web spider with an egg sac, which I noticed on the inside of the railing at the top of the porch stairs. I only took the one picture, and only because of the size of the spider. I see egg sacs all the time and never see babies, so I didn’t give it a second thought. I was shocked when I went out in the morning to see all of the babies! Since she was right where you would naturally put your hand to hold the railing going down the stairs, I spent the next couple of weeks standing guard every time someone went in or out of the house!
