Pogonomyrmex subnitidus? - Pogonomyrmex subnitidus - Female
Santa Barbara County, California, USA
August 2, 2012
Size: ~1cm
Thinking female Pogonomyrmex subnitidus? Appears to have had wings at one point. She was about 2x the size of the workers in the area. She and females like her, seemed to be excavating and provisioning new nests. Found in sandy Burton Mesa chaparral habitat
