curve-toothed geometer - Eutrapela clemataria

curve-toothed geometer - Eutrapela clemataria
Epping, Rockingham County, New Hampshire, USA
August 3, 2012
Size: About 8.2 cm long.
This is the largest inchworm I have seen! Discovered on the underside of a white ash (Fraxinus americana) leaf in my yard. It looks as though the larva had eaten about half the leaf. The lot is wooded, mixed deciduous/coniferous with a river nearby.
