Pyramid Ant Nest with Ant Mimic Jumping Spider - Dorymyrmex smithi

Pyramid Ant Nest with Ant Mimic Jumping Spider - Dorymyrmex smithi
Cibola National Forest, Sandia Mountains, Bernalillo County, New Mexico, USA
May 1, 1999
Another old slide scan. I remember this day as having a late snowstorm in the mountains while I took this shot. I saw this and just grabbed one frame. At the time, I had no idea there was also a jumping spider with the ants. The spider is center-left. Today, I'd work hard to get a bunch of shots. Live and learn, I guess.
