Megachile? - Megachile pugnata

Megachile? - Megachile pugnata
Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon, USA
August 4, 2012
Front legs are brushy. Are these for pollen collecting?

Slightly smaller than a honey bee, with much shorter abdomen. Tail end of abdomen somehow looks almost truncated.

Megachile Subgenus Sayapis (Subgenus Sayapis)? policaris?
