Enchenopa on-viburnum? - Enchenopa

Enchenopa on-viburnum? - Enchenopa
Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio, USA
August 2, 2012
I was beating some bushes around the house with my insect net when I found a number of these. My "tree" friend identified the host plant as a non-native Viburnum species (planted before I moved in). Looking at the Enchenopa pages I see that there is an undescribed species that is found on Viburnums.

Moved from ID Request.

Yes, check your viburnums for nymphs.
A good series of nymph images will help Dr Hamilton separate out these species. You should be able to find white waxy buildup on the stems when the adults lay their eggs. Don't know if there will be a second generation this year or not, but that will tell you where to find the young nymphs when they hatch.

I checked after first finding
I checked after first finding the adults and again today but have not found any nymphs.
