Haliplus

Haliplus
slough of Rock River in South Beloit, very near WI border, Winnebago County, Illinois, USA
September 1, 2011
Size: just under 3mm
I believe this to be Haliplus borealis. It lacks a pronotal spot and pronotal plica, and is under 3.5mm in size (key from Hilsenhoff and Brigham - Crawling Water Beetles of Wisconsin).
