Mineola Moth - Acrobasis tricolorella

Mineola Moth - Acrobasis tricolorella
Hidden Corners Sanctuary, Town of Baileys Harbor, Door County, Wisconsin, USA
June 22, 2001
This beautiful little moth (with a 1 in. wingspan) came to our night light in 2001. I have been trying to ID it ever since. Thanks to J.D. Roberts for identifying it almost six years later.

Mineola Moth
Thank you, J.D. I'd say your match looks pretty good. I looked for the common name on the Plant Profile for Peaches of Illinois Website and they listed Mineola Moth for Acrobasis tricolorella. I've been trying to figure this one out for almost six years. I thank you so much for taking your time on this.

No problem
I always enjoy doing IDs. I recognized the markings on your moth, but it took me a little while to remember where to look. There is some variation in A. tricolorella, but all the diagnostic markings are present on your specimen. I think it's safe to call it. Glad I could help. :)
