signs of EAB attack - Agrilus planipennis

signs of EAB attack - Agrilus planipennis
Richmond Hill, York, Ontario, Canada
July 22, 2012
I have posted this and the following images to show some of the typical signs of EAB infestation. They may be frassed if not within BugGuide scope. This beautiful ash tree has been afflicted for at least two years, and is exhibiting extensive crown dieback. The tree actually began to show signs of weakening last year, including yellowing and leaf drop. By the time exit holes appeared this season, the tree is in severe condition and beyond rescue. This sequence of events reflects the insidious nature of EAB attack.
