Bright orange wasp - Polistes
Americus, Sumter County, Georgia, USA

very aggressive and chased me around the garden. I'm allergic to wasp stings, it looks like a wasp, I don't want to get stung. What is it?

She appears to be gathering wood fibers to make her paper nest.
