This fella came to my blacklight a couple of nights ago. I think he's a
Carabus
, but which one?

Looks more like Calosoma
Looks like a Calosoma species to me. Here is one that looks like a good match, though you will want to look at the other Calosoma too:

I believe you're right.
From the guide page for
C. sayi
:
"Large, black, with prominent gold or red punctures and blue or green margins of elytra. 25-28 mm."
The one in my photo has the gold puctures and the margins of the elytra are green. I just measured it and it's 26 mm. Looks like a better match, to me, than the other
Calosoma
species.
