Blaste garciorum Mockford - Blaste garciorum - female

Blaste garciorum Mockford - Blaste garciorum - Female
San Marcos, Hays County, Texas, USA
August 17, 2012
Size: 3.5 mm
Blaste garciorum and Blaste posticata females are impossible (for me) to distinguish without dissection and slide peparation. I prepared a slide of the genitalia of this specimen and was able to say that this is garciorum because of the "posterior membraneous region of 9th sternum" is bilobed, the "pigmented zone around spermapore [is] decidedly longer than wide", and the apical lobe of the subgenital plate has a "relatively wide clear zone around free margin". I used the key in Mockford's 1984 paper: Florida Entomologist 6794):548-5566. I'm confident about this one.

Looks Great!
Both the psocid and the photo. You're my best student and you're not even in one of my classes :)
