Machimus paropus or erythocnemius? - Machimus erythocnemius - male

Machimus paropus or erythocnemius? - Machimus erythocnemius - Male
PR315, near Bird Lake, Manitoba, Canada
August 16, 2012
Size: aprox 16mm's
With the absence of a solid black mid-dorsal stripe and the presence of black bristles on venter of the pro-femora, I eliminated M. erythocnemius from the running. M. paropus supposedly has black bristles on thorax but this guy has some light-coloured ones as well. Thoughts?

[edit] - From further study of comments here on BG, I see M. erythocnemius may also have black bristles on venter of pro-femora.
