This moth was found one morning at Plainsboro Preserve, one of the sanctuaries of the New Jersey Audubon Society. The lights stay on all night and attract a good assortment of moths. Surrounding habitats include farmland, marsh, and forest, with a large lake as well.

This two-toned morph is more common than the uniformly-colored morph in Plainsboro. Middlesex County data point.
