Size: about 10 mm
Found in a patch of tall grass on logging road 17 about 0.4 mile from Manila Crk. Road.

Yes, it would have to be the species officially known as octopunctatus; compare
this one
recently found by Shannon Bowley in the Sun Lakes area.
I refer to this species as Phidippus sp. #1. The epigynum is radically unlike that of true octopunctatus, though the males are very close.

Jumping spider, family Salticidae. Perhaps a male Phidippus octupunctatus?
