Scythris fuscicomella - male - female

Scythris fuscicomella - Male Female
Parkwood, Durham County, North Carolina, USA
June 5, 2005
Size: 12 mm wingspan
These small moths were mating in my garden. Length was about 6 mm (giving approx. 12 mm wingspan), measured by photographing adjacent to a scale. (I think they were on an aster family plant, but am not completely sure.) See comments here:

This is deemed to be likely a Scythris, possibly Scythris fusciomella or a related species. Thanks to Bob Patterson and colleagues for help on ID.
Image updated 6/12/20 and moved to species level, fingers crossed.

Moved
Moved from Flower Moths. Looking at these images, they seem to match Scythris fusciomella. I know this is a poorly known group.
