A facial frontal shot and close up of antenna but this may be a Laphystia species. Awful hairy facially. Something doesn't feel right. I will get Michael to have a look.

Any suggestions on a basic book on syrphids and another on bee flies? (BTW, good luck with your volunteer activities. Sounds like a major endeavor.)
