Crawdad - Cambarus bartonii

Crawdad - Cambarus bartonii
Cornell Campus, Tompkins County, New York, USA
August 20, 2012
Cambarus? I'll take photos from more angles next time I see one.

Yes
And in your area the choices are C. bartonii bartonii and C. robustus. The single (as opposed to double) row of tubercles on the inner side of the palm of the chelae, indicate this is Cambarus bartonii bartonii. The taxonomy of the genus is being worked on, but for now bartonii bartonii is the only subspecies of bartonii listed for NY ... so that helps. :)

Moved from Crayfishes.
