Datana sp. caterpillars? - Datana

Datana sp. caterpillars? - Datana
Jackson/Silver Bluff Audubon Center, Aiken County, South Carolina, USA
August 25, 2012
I believe that this is one of the Prominent Moth Caterpillars, maybe a Datana species. Hundreds of this caterpillar were feeding on winged sumac at a constructed wetlands in late August in the midlands of South Carolina.

Moved from Moths.

Spotted Datana (Datana perspicua)
I believe that these caterpillars are the Spotted Datana Moth (Datana perspicua). Confirmation?
