confusing moth - Schinia gracilenta

confusing moth - Schinia gracilenta
our land, along Hwy 88 near Praag, Buffalo County, Wisconsin, USA
August 25, 2012
Came to UV lights. This is farther north than any specimens in the guide or on MPG, but I'm pretty sure this is the correct ID. The northernmost dot on the MPG map is central Iowa. One of its host plants - Brickellia eupatorioides - is common in our prairies.

Moved
Moved from Flower Moths.
Les agrees with you that this is S. gracilenta so - finally - I'm getting back to moving it here. Thanks for your help James.

Moved - again
Moved from American Dun-bar Moth.

I checked with Les, and he agrees that it's a Schinia. He's checking with Mike Pogue to see if we can find out more - so I'm putting it here for now.

Schinia gracilenta
is correct...

Thanks James...
I'll talk to Les. Is there a way to resolve this?

I meant..
are there definitive ways to tell which moth it is?

Moved from Slender Flower Moth.

ID corrected by Les Ferge.
