Clearwing - Hemaris diffinis

Clearwing - Hemaris diffinis
Lawrenceville, Mercer County, New Jersey, USA
July 16, 2006
I think that this is the snowberry clearwing, but would like an expert opinion. It was feeding on a butterfly bush, but did not land on the flower to feed, making it difficult to get a sharp image. The image was taken around 9:00 am EDT on July 16, 2006.

Moved
Moved from Hemaris.

7855 -- Snowberry/Bumblebee Clearwing Moth -- Hemaris diffinis
Excellent photo showing diagnostic black markings running from eye, under the wings, to the abdomen.

Thanks
Thank you for the swift response. I'll move the image to Hemaris diffinis grouping.
