Celastrina neglecta? - Cupido comyntas - male

Celastrina neglecta? - Cupido comyntas - Male
Barton, Orleans County, Vermont, USA
August 30, 2012
Size: 3/4 inch
I saw a purple butterfly (thought it a moth, it was very very small), and in the lens I saw a brownish spring azure? Well, that couldn't be right. So I read the discussion and it may be C. neglecta, but mine is a tad browner than the photos. This one is sitting on alder leave but it was resting any old place as long as it was green. It never opened wings, of course. Thank you!

I went through all the photos
I went through all the photos I have of this individual (a lot) and found a series with a tail — rather, the tail is very visible, not like in this one, and I didn't pay attention thinking in this shot it was just a shadow or something. My first of this species! It may be common but it's rare for me! Thank you so much!!
