spider - Cybaeus signifer - Male
Cowichan Valley, British Columbia, Canada
August 30, 2012
Size: ~9mm body length
Found on the side of the house. Last time I submitted a C. signifer male the palp shots were kind of crummy, so I wanted to get some better ones for the guide. ID based on comparison of the palp to my earlier images here:

This guy was missing the tip of his right palp. He was also pretty lethargic. I didn't need to keep him still for the palp shots, which were not taken through a sheet of plastic like usual. He seemed inclined to play dead and stayed put when I flipped him onto his back to get at his palps. He did try to sprint away after a minute or so though.

A beauty. Great shots & ID.
