Vespula vidua nest - Vespula vidua

Vespula vidua nest - Vespula vidua
Howell, Monmouth County, New Jersey, USA
September 1, 2012
Dug up this morning September 1st. The wasps were hanging out inside the chamber above the actual nest. They barely moved, except for the new queens. There was mold and parasites, so I guess thats why the wasps chose to say off the nest.
Nest has 2 combs, 1 worker and 1 queen.
