Damselfly - Enallagma geminatum

Damselfly - Enallagma geminatum
Reed Turned Woodland, Lake County, Illinois, USA
August 9, 2006
i am still not very good at identifying damsleflies. I assume this is one of the very common blue species.

Skimming Bluet
Yes, it is common. Enallagma geminatum. Very nice! It appears also to be carrying some water mites on the abdomen. The wavy blue stripe on segment 2 is diagnostic according to Ed Lam's book on Damselflies of the Northeast.
