Eastern Lubber Grasshopper (Romalea microptera) - Romalea microptera

Eastern Lubber Grasshopper (Romalea microptera) - Romalea microptera
Charleston County, South Carolina, USA
I took this photograph at Ravenel Caw Caw Interpretive Center located in Ravenel, South Carolina while walking the area with my family. I submitted the photograph and it was selected for use by the Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission for use on their website for the month of September 2012 at http://www.ccprc.com/index.aspx?NID=1094 (I was told by their interpretation coordinator that there are few photos of this grasshopper with its wings extended.)

very nice pix indeed; pls make sure to add sighting date
also, all location data ("Caw Caw Interpretive Center, Ravenel") should go to the City box, rather than the Remarks

Moved from ID Request.

Wow
Beautiful photograph! Thanks for sharing.

Thank You!
I love taking pictures and occasionally get some great shots. With a small amount of "tickling" I was able to get this beauty to extend her wings. We weren't disappointed!
