Size: 1/2 cm
Unfortunately this is a dead specimen with as much as possible included to suggest an identification. These beetles suddenly appearred in numbers (25 or more each day)in a basement. They move quickly.

Is the size measured or estimated?
1/2 cm is 5 mm, but I would suspect the actual size is larger. can you double check the size?
