The Queen has Laid Eggs and Workers are starting to Dig! - Aphaenogaster rudis - female

The Queen has Laid Eggs and Workers are starting to Dig! - Aphaenogaster rudis - Female
Basking Ridge, Somerset County, New Jersey, USA
September 4, 2012
Size: 6-7 mm
Last night was the ant's first night in my farm and this morning I noticed a small wad of eggs! Also last night I noticed the ants expanding the "starter Tunnels" a bit, and this morning I was able to get a picture of one with a grain of sand in it's jaws.
Edit- I didn't even notice the queen is sitting in plain sight in this picture!
