based on my microscopic examination of the exterior & genitalia of this male specimen which is now a photo-voucher in the P.W.Messer collection. Thanks Tom.

Morphologic distinctions from very similar northeastern O. fluvialis are discussed by Bousquet (1996). An unpublished character difference I notice among several specimens is that the elytral striae are more prominently punctate compared to that of O. fluvialis.
