black and yellow spider - Argiope trifasciata

black and yellow spider - Argiope trifasciata
Melville, Saskatchewan, Canada
September 11, 2012
Found out in the open in my flower bed on bachelor's button plant in bloom. This plant attracts many black ants. This location faces east and recieves full sun. This spider startled me but did not mind my examining of it.

Argiope trifasciata
I think this beautiful spider is Argiope trifasciata:

Thanks! I will enjoy watching
Thanks! I will enjoy watching her activities knowing better who she is. She is stunning, but I can only watch her briefly before getting the "skin crawling" feeling.
